Student loans are loans offered to needy students to aid on their costs of professional studies. Student loan programs are fixed on delivering the help that the students and families need most to affordably fund various levels of studies.

Understanding that every student has distinctive needs and goals, these loans come in a few different versions. There are federal loans and private education loans to choose from, of which you can find the right loan to help pay for your studies.

Federal loans are the single largest source of study loans. There are two branches. The first is the Federal Family Education Loan Program where your bank, credit union, or school is the lender and loan is made to the parents. Usually, the parents are able to borrow much more to cover any gap in the cost of studies. However, there is generally no grace period whatsoever on these loans and payments start immediately.

Second is the Federal Direct Loan Program where loans are made directly to the student. These loans are available to college and university students and are used to supplement personal resources, scholarships and grants. They may be subsidized by the government depending on the student's financial need. No payments are needed until after graduation, but amounts are quite limited.

Private education loans are available from a variety of banks, private companies, specialized education lenders or other financial institutions to provide a supplemental loan where other loans do not cover. The lender generally disburses the loan directly to the school. Any funds borrowed beyond the fees are given to the student for living expenses. The grace period may range as high as 12 months after graduation.

You'll find it more convenient to apply online because of the simpler and faster procedures. The informatively outreached programs, interactive tools and comprehensive financial solutions will guide you through the process. You just have to fill out the loan application, review your student loan report, compare the loan packages, choose your lender, and there; your application's complete!
